Proxmox VE - Clustering and Shared Storage

Summary
This Authorized Proxmox Training Partner course extends the Deployment and Management training with the design and operation of multi-node Proxmox VE clusters. Participants learn how to build resilient virtualisation platforms with shared storage, high availability, hyper-converged Ceph and automated workflows. Lab time is spent on a real cluster running on dedicated hardware.

Prerequisites
Hands-on Proxmox VE experience equivalent to the Proxmox VE - Deployment and Management course, or a working production deployment under your belt. Comfortable with the Linux command line, networking and storage fundamentals.

Content

  • Proxmox VE cluster architecture, design considerations and quorum
  • Cluster deployment, node addition and removal
  • Cluster networking and Software-Defined Network (SDN) at scale

  • Proxmox Backup Server: deployment, retention, encryption and verification
  • Restore strategies and disaster recovery

  • Hyper-converged Ceph storage with Proxmox VE
  • Pools, CRUSH map basics, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • ZFS replication for two-node and edge scenarios

  • High Availability (HA) groups, fencing and failover behaviour
  • Operational practices for HA workloads

  • REST API and CLI automation
  • Automation patterns for repeatable cluster operations

  • Cluster troubleshooting: split-brain, storage, networking and HA scenarios

Content is complementary to the Proxmox VE - Deployment and Management course. To take both courses in one go, see the Proxmox VE Bundle.
